What is Carers Allowance In the UK?

Carer’s Allowance is a weekly payment from social security to people who care for sick, old, or disabled people who need help. Your Carer’s Allowance may not be paid to you if you also get other benefits, like a State Pension.

You may only get half of your Carer’s Allowance if you also get another type of SSI. You might be able to get Carer’s Allowance if you care for someone with a disability, chronic illness, or other medical condition for at least 35 hours a week and they are getting other benefits.

For as long as your claim for Carer’s Allowance is accepted, you will still be entitled to it. This could mean that you could get extra money for any means-tested payments you get, like Housing Benefit or Pension Credit.
